According as industrial structure is highly developed, various exhausting sources of air pollution materials are generated and kinds of exhausted materials are also increased compared to the past. Therefore, by exposed to various pollution materials, many adhesive effects occur and especially, rapidly increased vehicles, petrochemical product related facilities, etc. mainly discharge volatile organic compounds (hereupon, refer to “VOC”), which adhesively influence to health and environment. Therefore, many studies have been progressed in order to reduce and prevent it.

Because of high vaporizing pressure, VOC is easily vaporized to the air and when it coexists with nitrogen oxides in the air, sun ray causes photochemical reaction between them. VOC representatively indicates all materials to generate photochemical smog

VOC’s environmental importance can be summarized by two aspects

First, just like aromatic hydrocarbon and halogen hydrocarbon, it is directly harmful for human

Second, like Aliphatic hydrocarbon (especially, olripin family), it is not too much harmful to human directly but because it is related to nitrogen oxides’ photolysis reaction in the air and secondly, it namely plays role as smog precursors to trigger oxidizing substances such as ozone and aldehyde family.

As for U.S. Environment Protection Agency (EPA) limits VOC exhaust less than 500 ppm and according to Clean Air Act (CAA), it regulates valve’s exhausted amount on 189 kinds of toxic VOC below 100 ppm

In the case of Korea, VOC regulation was introduced and atmosphere environment conservation law reflected regulation base on VOC according to atmosphere environment regulated area appointment in 1995 and then, Yeocheon, Ulsan, Mipo, and Onsan industrial complexes were appointed as atmosphere conservation special area and also, atmosphere conservation regulated areas were appointed around metropolitan area.

We have produced industrial sealing (gasket and packing) product for last 22 years and by establishing Kukil INNTOT annexed “Korea Nano & Seal Industrial R&D center”, in order to examine and solve bottleneck of environment and factory operation according to VOC leakage in the aspect of customer, we possess and operate gasket/packing test equipment such as UTM(Gasket Leakage Test M/C), Steam Test M/C, Gasket Vibration Test M/C, VOC Packing Test M/C, Helitest, etc. as well as make an effort to develop excellent products and localize foreign products.

As a result, we developed VOC packing and supply them to many companies domestically and oversea and also, their excellent performance on VOC leakage prevention is recognized

VOC packing, which includes low-density graphite used for stuffing box of valve for petrochemical equipment industry, is the excellent product to increase sealing performance between ID and OD by moving to stuffing box internal Dia. and stem external Dia. when grand flange is pressed down

This product is applied to relatively large sized stem and stuffing box like cast steel valve.

(1) Because installed in rectangular structure, up and down force is not evenly distributed.

(2) Flexible Graphite
     It can be manufactured in order to block        water by using compressed mold, which        causes too high sealing stress as well        serious limitation on materials flow.

1) Top and bottom

 

* Insides and outsides: By inserting Inconel Wire Insert Graphite Braid, improve product’s   duration under pressure and high temperature.
* Center: Metal reinforcement to support Inconel Wire Insert Graphite Braid

   
  2) Mid-stage
  * It consists of several low-density Graphite Mold Packing and can be semi-permanently used    after one time installation because there is not deformation by various types of vibration    during operation according to low-stress relief characteristic and thermal-aging phenomenon.    Maintenance expenses are cheap

VOC-HP21 is installed after calculating torque value by using suggested equation and in initial installation, when it is tightened by enough tightening pressure, it shows stable packing performance but when leakage occurs during using it, it should be re-bolted by applying 90~110% of initial tightening pressure value
